The Australian Government, Department of Health issued 24-Hour movement guidelines for children and young people (5-17 years of age). The guidelines are a product of extensive work done by Anthony D. Okely and colleagues to adapt the Canadian 24-Hour Movement Guidelines for the Early Years. A detailed description of this process and its outcomes is published in BMC Public Health journal.
The Guidelines were officially launched by Senator the Hon Bridget McKenzie, Minister for Rural Health, Minister for Sport and Minister for Regional Communications on Thursday 4 April 2019. The Guidelines can be found here.
